Alice & Clive: Exciting Eastern Germany 2019

This was our fourth holiday with MandA tours, and we really enjoyed it, and would like to thank the MandA Tours team for all their efforts. We saw some amazing towns and castles and were able to make excursions into Poland and Prague. We also really enjoyed Potsdam – there was so much to see and do and we were able to take the train from there to Berlin.

This was our second holiday with Manda Tours and we enjoyed the stunning scenery and the good selection of interesting places to visit – we particularly enjoyed spending the day at the Black Forest Open Air Museum.

During the tour we had a mechanical problem and our tour leaders, Michael & Audrey – thanks to their knowledge of the region and language skills – helped us twice to get things sorted out!

Thank you for a wonderful tour. We loved travelling in a group and enjoyed the company of the other members of the group. Having the tour organised saved us hours of planning ourselves. We also liked the reassurance that an “expert” was with us should the worst happen – fortunately it did not! The campsites were excellent and the traveling distances between them were perfect and not too far apart. We particularly liked the “Amsterdam” campsite, its proximity to the city and the stunning location. The advice to bring bikes was absolutely right for us and the pickup in Calais was fab. We look forward to travelling with you again.

A fantastic Motorhome tour, very different from our previous caravan tours. The short drives with one or two night stops took a little time to get used to, however Michael and Audrey made the tour very interesting and a great adventure! The opportunity to meet other motorhomers while exploring a wonderful country was a delight. We have already booked their Amazing Alpine Roads tour for next year!

Mike & Victoria: Impressive Italian Lakes and Cities 2022

We have had an enjoyable tour. We especially enjoyed meeting everyone and the wine tasting and vineyard tour/dinner was excellent, as was the welcome and farewell dinners. The campsites were mostly excellent, in very good locations relative to public transport, local amenities and places of interest.

This was our first guided tour and we had a lovely time. Thank you for the laughs and memories.

The tour gave us the opportunity to explore the region, and not worry about planning our visit. The information provided in the roadbook and Michaels 7:30pm meetings were excellent – allowing everyone to make their own choices as to how to spend their day. We had the reassurance that our tour guide was always available and willing to assist us with any problems – no matter large or small – and enjoyed the friendliness of our tour companions.

We loved the scenery, stave churches, ferries, tunnels and fjords. The road book was full of excellent information on places to stop and visit.

Our highlights were:

1. the Jostedal national park, the hike to the tail of the glacier and the museum there
2. our pitch at our campsite on Lovatnet Lake, the boat trip on the lake and hiring the Twizzy E car to explore the area.

Tricia & Alan: Spectacular Spanish Northern Coast 2019

Once again, another great taster tour. We really appreciate now the variety on offer along the Northern Spanish Coastal area: magnificent ancient buildings, picturesque old towns, stunning mountains and national parks…. and beautiful beaches! We would certainly like to return sometime to spend more time exploring this area. We particularly enjoyed the towns / cities of San Sebastian, Burgos, Santillana des Mar and Santiago de Compostela. We also loved the Picos and mountain visit (having successfully negotiated the cable car), the beaches at the western end and Praia des Catedrais!

The name of the tour says it all. There are plenty of places to visit and cable cars to master! Once again, a very enjoyable holiday and we would like to thank Michael and Audrey for dealing with all our queries and generally making our holiday a very enjoyable experience. We always feel that you can deal with any difficulties we may experience. We found the programme mix was good and the scenic routes fantastic.

We were impressed by the professionalism of Michael, our tour guide, his knowledge of the region and the way he communicated with the group. We particularly liked that the daily driving distances, once we had arrived in the region were kept low, allowing us plenty of time to sightsee or relax at the campsites. We really enjoyed the company and the compatibility of the group. Our favorite place was Bernkastel-Kues on the Moselle and would have liked to stay longer.

This was our third tour with Michael and Audrey – and once again a delightful tour! We really enjoyed the company of the lovely, friendly and supportive group of like-minded motorhome travellers. The campsites were ideally situated for the many suggested points of interest along the route. Our favorite area was Galicia located in the north-west of the Iberian Peninsula where we visited Cape Finisterre, A Coruna and Santiago de Compostela, although we also loved the vast beaches in Asturias and the gorgeous city of San Sebastian. A high point (literally) of the tour was driving through the Picos de Europa snow-capped mountains. The road book was very detailed which meant that we did and saw things on the tour that we would not have known about had we been left to our own resources.

This was our second tour with MandA Tours. We particularly enjoyed the Wine-tasting in the Rioja and the cable car ride in the Picos d’Europa.

This tour had a very good ratio of 2-night stops. We felt the Boat trip through the Naeroyfjord was excellent and we enjoyed the scenery. Think this tour should be later, as certain things are not yet open for summer! Need more opportunity to mix with other tourers when in a colder climate as we, otherwise, retreat to our mohos. Lillehammer deserves more time – there is so much there – but I know it is a balancing act always.

Michael just thought I would write and thank you for the way you looked after us on the Rhine tour.  It was well organised and paced so that we weren’t hurried and had time to enjoy the scenery.  The campsites were well chosen, especially the ones where we parked right next to the river.

Highlights……Meals in good company, fellow travellers were very friendly.  Rhine in Flames was spectacular.  Your organisation was spot on, maps and daily briefing before we moved on was just right.

This was our first experience of this type of holiday and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to travel in a motorhome. Excellent tour from start to finish. Michael & Audrey’s communication skills are second to none. They were perfect hosts and we enjoyed the company of the group and the trip. The site locations were perfect, and this made it easy to visit many of the tourist attractions listed in the road book using cycle routes, public transport, or walking. We really enjoyed our visit to the flower growing region and Michael’s knowledge enabled us to get an excellent position to watch the flower parade at Noordwyk. The visit to Keukenhof Gardens was a highlight and a must see! We will definitely book another tour in the future.

We have enjoyed this tour and visited many new places. The Milan tour was excellent, but a break halfway would have been beneficial. Our favourite sites were on Lake Iseo (6-star) & the vineyard. Bardolino on lake Garda is also a lovely place.

This is the second time we have rented a motorhome and travelled with MandA Tours. It was a stunning tour! Fabulous scenery, fabulous lakes and picturesque towns. We thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂

We especially liked the pace of this tour with several 2 night stops giving us time to explore the areas we visited. We loved visiting both smaller as well as larger lakes with the different towns and cities along their shores. The added opportunities to explore islands by boat was a treat! We also thought that visiting Milan was a good addition midway to give a different perspective and we enjoyed having the guided tour as we learnt so much more. All in all a great balance was struck between traveling and exploring. Thank you.

Once again, a huge thank you Audrey and Michael for an excellent tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour. We thought the Black Forest area was particularly beautiful and exceeded our expectations. One of the many highlights was the Rhine Falls of Schaffhausen in Switzerland and being able to swim in the Rhine at Stein am Rhein! We loved the visit to the Hymer Plant and museum (but we are biased)!

We were interested in the Rhine Tour for our first visit to Europe in the Motorhome. All the planning and site booking had been done for us and we just had to follow the instructions. We were also keen to have a point of contact and assistance if anything were to go wrong. It was fascinating to arrive at the Aachen site and meet, for the first time, 20 people with whom we would spend the next two weeks. We felt very fortunate that it was such an interesting and friendly group. Everyone did their best to create a pleasant and supportive atmosphere.

Michael and Audrey are very experienced motorhome users and were excellent hosts and guides. The “Road Book” issued prior to the start of the tour is a well-produced document and was a constant reference for us. We appreciated M&A’s presence at each site as we arrived knowing that all the formalities had been sorted out and we were able just to park and hook up. Throughout the tour, they engaged with all the guests, individually and collectively, to make sure any issues were addressed, they were always eager and willing to help.

We enjoyed the tour immensely. Although we sometimes felt a little hurried with the “one night” stops, we appreciate that this was a well worked compromise to avoid too much time on the road. We particularly enjoyed the pitches by the river which M&A had booked 12 months previously. If we had come on our own, we could never had booked those pitches.

There was excellent advice in the “Road Book” of places of interest along the way between sites. We did not make full use of this; usually being late to leave, and also a little nervous of straying too far from the recommended route. The additional wine tasting organised by M&A, and not in the itinerary, was an excellent bonus. We bought some excellent wine on their recommendation.

The tour was conducted in a friendly, helpful, and professional manner by Michael and Audrey. Every query or clarification was dealt with efficiently and we felt well looked after.

Unfortunately (through personal reasons) our homeward journey had to take place after one week on the tour, which was very disappointing. Thank you for your guidance regarding the route.

I have so many lovely memories of this tour that it is hard to know where to begin. As a solo traveller, I think the balance between being able to do your own thing and having great company and comradeship is absolutely perfect. The security of knowing that Michael and Audrey (and their multi-lingual skills!) are just a phone call away, is priceless.

The driving distances and non-driving days have been very well considered, and there have been several surprise experiences included in the tour. Michael and Audrey have provided individual guidance and suggestions of things to do and places to visit… it has felt like having your own tour operator on holiday with you! The tour was excellent value for money. We enjoyed the general location itself on the Rhine and Moselle. The route was excellent and we liked the varied locations, the ease of travel and short distances between sites.

This was our 3^rd tour with MandA tours and this time we particularly enjoyed the low daily driving distances and the location of the campsites. We often had lakeside pitches with spectacular views over the lakes and mountains and on the larger lakes the campsites had been chosen so that is was easy to use the ferries to get from one island or town to another. The tour included an excellent wine-tasting and meal at a vineyard and we stayed overnight at their own aire which had full motorhome facilities and a swimming pool which the group could use freely. The last 3 nights were spent on Lake Garda making it a nice relaxing way to end the tour.

The tour was exceptional and brilliantly organized. The excellent and accurate information in the roadbook allowed for some extraordinary drives through the mountains. We stayed at primo ***** sites with great facilities.

This was my second holiday with MandA Tours and last year I really enjoyed the Rhine and Moselle Tour, and although I didn’t think it could be possible, I ask myself: was this tour to the Alps almost better?

An amazing tour to somewhere we probably wouldn’t have ventured on our own + the weather helped! Right time of year for waterfalls and prior to school holidays. Photographs don’t do the scenery justice …. you have to see it with your own eyes. Driving through 7 meter snowbanks an amazing experience, but not for all participants, some missed it and went through the tunnel instead! The last days driving too much and not enough time to see all the attractions.

The tour was excellent, the booking process easy, the information material supplied was comprehensive, the campsites of a high quality and the highlights enjoyable.

The Welcome dinner during the first evening allowed us to get to know the other members of the group at the beginning of the tour, who were all very friendly. We liked the great campsites chosen by MandA Tours, especially as the on site restaurants gave us the opportunity to try a glass of local German beer in the evening after a full day sightseeing.

We especially liked the boat trip on Lake Köngissee with its amazing scenery and the typical Bavarian meal in the brewery on lake Tegernsee.

We would highly recommend MandA Tours and are thinking of joining the Italian Lakes & Cities tour next year.

Denmark was not a place we had thought to visit on our own, but this trip has been wonderful and opened our eyes to how amazing Denmark and its people are. We will definitely come back if we can in the future. We would have needed more time at some locations and perhaps a 3 week tour would be better.

As always Michael & Audrey have been great – nothing too much trouble as usual. Will be looking at next year’s tours when we get home. Black Forest, Danube and possibly Andalusia depending on the time of year of the tour.

The tour was well planned and gave plenty of options to visit sights you would not normally see. There were choices to suit different personal circumstances. Having M+A supporting the tour gave help with language and booking together with knowledge of local area – where to park etc.

We are mostly independent motorhomers – but this trip gave us a ‘feet-up’ approach with research done, questions answered, right through to reserving the best sites and pitches. Would definitely recommend.

We very much enjoyed this tour with wonderful scenic roads and good sites with excellent facilities. In particular, 3 days on two sites was appreciated, as it gave more time to see the area. One-night stays are not so good although there may be a reason to do so.

Michael and Audrey have been excellent hosts and guides, always with a friendly word. We would not hesitate to recommend a Manda tour, if you want to enjoy a great touring holiday, well organised, with superb roads, excellent campsites, and wonderful company.

The overall organization and planning of the tour made for very smooth running. The group size was ideal, and there was plenty of time for group interaction. The “Rhine in Flames” evening was excellent and we saw the most impressive display of fireworks we have ever seen.

On our way home, we tried to find a campsite in the Monschau area close to the town centre or on a bus route and marvelled (again) at the time that Michael must take in doing just that for every campsite. To say nothing about giving us exact coordinates to find it! I know it’s part of the service but it’s only now having had to do it for ourselves that we really appreciate the ease with which we have travelled!

Through Covid lockdown we had very much looked forward to our first tour with Manda Tours and were not disappointed.

Michael and Audrey are a lovely friendly couple who had planned an excellent tour with interesting roads, many places of interest to visit and very good campsites. We never felt under any pressure to keep to a timetable, and could choose what places to visit and when. An excellent way to see a new country and to join with a great group of like minded and friendly people.

Until we came on this tour, we never realised Denmark was such an interesting and beautiful country, rich in history, spectacular castles, stunning coastline, fabulous food, especially the seafood and the street food scene is fantastic. Highlights were the west and northern coasts of Jutland and Skagen.

The roadbook was full of ideas and places to visit enroute making this a true “touring holiday”. We love the choice of campsites, and their locations were perfect for the areas we visited. To conclude the “Delightful Denmark” tour was truly delightful.

This tour was a great taste of the Italian lakes and highlighted areas, we would like to return to for a longer stay. The views from the Iseo campsite were fabulous and most of the sites were within a reasonable walking distance of the local towns. We know some enjoyed the city side of the tour, but our personal preference would have been for extra days at the smaller lakes as an alternative. But as we have already discussed, you can’t please all the people all the time! Overall we have had a great time and Luna (the dog) really enjoyed herself too!

This was our second tour with MandA Tours and introduced us to a country which we haven’t toured in before. We came to see Italian Lakes and were certainly not disappointed. More than enough options were provided for visiting places of interest, with detailed notes and directions. For us the highlights were using the ferries, most of which called in near the selected campsites and enabled us to visit some of the beautiful islands, towns and botanical gardens in other parts of the lakes. We enjoyed the delightful company of the other members of the tour and were pleased to be welcomed at each campsite by Michael and Audrey, who directed us to our pitch.

Amazing really does describe this tour.

We liked the campsites, the scenery and the short drives. Of all the great campsite restaurants, we especially liked the restaurant at the campsite in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The roadbook and the location of the campsites was excellent and the coordinates worked really well in the sat nav. Nothing was too much trouble for Michael – if he didn’t know the answer, he would find out. Many thanks for all your help.

We have enjoyed seeing this part of Germany that we hadn’t been before. There was a good mix of cities, towns and also countryside. We enjoyed all the included activities but the highlight was the visit to Colditz castle. Michael and Audrey were good hosts and always available to answer questions.

Given that the tour covers most of the country, 3 weeks allowed enough non-travelling days to either relax or visit additional places. The campsites were excellent with good provisions for those with mobility issues.

Denmark resembles England in many respects, except it is less crowded and feels more relaxed. Most of the population speak excellent English which gives added confidence when travelling alone. Credit cards are widely used. It also greatly helped that the weather was hot and sunny for all but a few days through MandA perhaps cannot take all the credit for this 😊

The tour covered a very pretty part of Germany. The welcome dinner and highlights were excellent and the Rhine in Flames evening was magical. Bernkastel-Kues is probably the most prettiest town we have ever visited! The chosen route was also excellent, as was the tour guide. Thank you for making it such a wonderful trip.

Our hosts were very helpful, had an excellent knowledge of the areas we went to, and nothing was too much trouble. We sometimes found the Dutch road system a bit complicated, but Michael always gave us good directions.

This was our 1^st trip abroad in our motorhome was a little nervous but needn’t have worried as Michael and Audrey took all the stress away organising everything from trips to petrol stations to shops and directions, nothing was too much trouble.

The campsites were lovely especially the ones on the side of the river. Evening meetings were very informative and gave us a chance to hear our fellow travellers daily adventures.

We enjoyed all the organised events. Loved this trip so much we have booked the Black Forest tour for next year.

Great tour!!!

The tour was well organised and we visited some great places during the two weeks. We particularly appreciated the support and help from Michael during the tour as he was always there to help when needed. In our case we had a problem with our fresh water tank and Michael made many phone calls (in German) and resolved our problem. Even before the tour started he gave us suggestions of sites to stay at on our way from the UK to the beginning of the tour and sites on our way back from Austria.

The sites we stayed at during the tour had first class facilities and restaurants where we had several enjoyable lunches and dinners, often together with other members of the group who were all very friendly.

We will recommend MandA Tours to all our friends.

The tour was exceptional and there was a great friendly atmosphere created by its organisation. Michael goes above and beyond what could be expected to make the experience memorable and we thank him for it. The road book was so comprehensive with some many alternative choices that we will need to revisit the area in order to take them all in! The Rhine in Flames evening was excellent and the Wine-Tasting in Trier was exceptional. We have a very large motorhome and did not have any problems on the route or any of the campsites and would certainly recommend the tours to others.

The route, welcome dinner and highlights were excellent and we had plenty of opportunity to visit places on route, because the driving distances between stops were kept to a minimum. Another excellent tour with friendly people. Highlights included Dresden, Colditz castle, the punting trip and a fabulous wine tasting evening. Extra time at Colditz would have been great, but not at the expense of any other places on the tour.

Another excellent tour by Michael and Audrey to the Spanish Northern Coast. We had a lovely time with friends from past tours and made new friends on this tour. The organized visit to the vineyard in the Rioja and the winetasting was brilliant and we really enjoyed the cable car ride in the Picos de Europa. The drive through the mountains was breathtaking with views to die for.

This was our first tour with MandA Tours and we would certainly consider travelling with them again. Each destination you offered us gave us a unique experience with highlights. – Plitvice Lakes, Krka National Park and the boat trip at Cetina Canyon. On a personal level we prefer smaller towns such as Rovinj and Trogir over the larger cities.

The tour was excellent from the booking process and service before the tour, through to the campsites, information material and highlights. The Moselle Valley in particular was beautiful.

Michael, our tour leader, showed great commitment to organising and would “go the extra mile” to assist with any problems (in our case finding new tyres at a garage on route after a puncture)! His knowledge and suggestions always meant we would have an interesting day.

We also really enjoyed the community spirit with the other guests who were all friendly and helpful.

We liked the road book with all the information about places of interest and also the sat-nav coordinates were very helpful. We particularly liked Bacharach and the fisher quarter of Saarburg.

The highlights of the tour for us were being able to visit Trier and the “Rhine in Flames” which was excellent. We wanted to finish off our holiday of 6 years ago which we had to cut short due to breakdown problems. On this tour we have seen some lovely sights and great villages which in all honesty we would never have known about or visited without the information given to us by Michael.

“Amazing” really does describe this tour – the scenery was stunning!

After having travelled with MandA Tours last year on the tour to the Rhine and Moselle, we wanted to see some other part of Germany. As we gained a lot of confidence during last year’s trip, we decided this year that we would not need the Calais pick-up service and we ,made our own way to the start of the tour.

Knowing from last year the amount of detail you put into the roadbook, including the GPS coordinates for the large variety of things to do, we were very much looking forward to this trip, and we were not to be disappointed. As last year we travelled with some lovely people, and the care and attention you gave us during the tour was outstanding. Thanks to you Mel achieved his ambition of driving a 24% incline!

We hope to travel with you again next year, probably to Spain.

Overall, this was a stunning tour. The scenery was amazing even if the weather let us down at the highest point! We had seen some amazing sites & views. The boat trip at Flam was definitely a good choice, although the railway was good too. In fact, we enjoyed the Flam stop altogether. There were many high spots between waterfalls and lakes and scenery in this tour!

We liked visiting towns/cities too. Bergen and Oslo were good to include, but we feel that you don’t need to give 2 days to Oslo. “Customers” can add a day on themselves if they want and that will give you an extra day to use beforehand. We did like the good balance between 1 and 2 day stops. It gave us a chance to just enjoy being where we were – as well as to catch up on essentials. The meal in the restaurant on site at Douvre was really nice and we got the chance to eat local dishes. It would have been nice to have done this somewhere else as well.

Finally, we’d just like to say thank you again for a spectacular tour and hope to travel with you again in the future.

The booking process and service before the start of the tour was excellent. As we had travelled with MandA Tours before, we expected Michael to be very knowledge about the region, ready to help at all times and able to speak the language and we were not disappointed! The town of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie was well worth a visit and we would have liked to spend more time there and in the Luberon Region but understand there is only so much that can be put in to a 14-day tour! Maybe we will travel with them again to the Italian Lakes.
