Digital Show – Day 1: “Exciting Eastern Germany”

Colditz Castle

This is now the second season where we have had to cancel all our tours due to the Covid-19 situation, which was obviously very disappointing both for us and our customers. The Motorhome & Caravan Show 2021 which was due to take place at the NEC in Birmingham this week has also been cancelled again. This means for the second year running that we will not have the chance to see and reminisce with all of our regular customers or have the chance to talk to many people who we have not yet met before to chat about our tours. The only good thing about this is that we are now travelling in Spain where we attended a friend’s wedding, and we are now on our way to Portugal and Andalusia on a scouting tour to check out routes and campsites for new tours which we hope to run in 2023.

As yesterday we should have been at the NEC setting up our stand for the Motorhome & Caravan Show, which would have started today, we have decided, just like last year, to do our own small show in a digital format. Every day this week we will send you a short email with information about next year’s tour programme.  We will start with the first tour of 2022 “Exciting Eastern Germany” and in the following emails we will present two further tours. If you are interested in this (or any other tour), please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions – we would be happy to send you more information.

Digital Show – Day 1: “Exciting Eastern Germany

Sunday 24th April – Saturday 7th May

Eastern Germany is an area that is emerging as a tourist region after the isolation of the Cold War and the fall of the Berlin Wall. If you join us on this tour, you will have the possibility to visit the great cities of Berlin, Dresden and Leipzig, some superb castles and palaces set amongst spectacular scenery and numerous beautifully preserved medieval towns. The tour will take you to the fascinating Spreewald Biosphere Reserve with its enchanting green wetlands, thick forests, and romantic streams, where as a group event we will take a guided punting trip on a traditional flat bottomed punting boat through some of the streams and canals that crisscross this jungle like forest and marshland. Another natural reserve to be visited is the Saxon Switzerland National Park with the famous rock formation “Bastei”, 400 sq km of hiking routes and stunning sandstone formations that look quite unlike anything else in Europe.  You will also have the chance to visit the famous Colditz Castle, the “escape-proof” WWII PoW camp (see picture) and to enjoy a wine tasting and a visit of the wine cellar in the Saale-Unstrut wine region.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show which is planned for February 2022 at the NEC will take place as scheduled and are optimistic that things will get back to normal next year. We understand, however, that some of you may be worried about booking a tour due to the current situation, however if we must cancel a tour again next year, any payment you make will be fully reimbursed, as is stated in our terms and conditions. All payments we receive are insured by an insolvency insurance through one of the largest German insurance companies and we send you a secured payment certificate with the booking confirmation. This allows you to book with confidence, knowing that your money is safe under any circumstances.

Best Regards

Audrey & Michael
