Today we wanted to give you an update on our most popular tour, the “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” tour.
As you will probably know, one of the highlights of this tour is a boat trip on the Rhine during the Rhine in Flames fireworks event. We are happy to inform you that the organisers have given us tickets on the MS Bingen, which is the boat you can see on the above picture in front of the Rheinstein castle. Due to our long-term relationship with the organisers, we have been assigned this boat again for next year. We love this boat because it has ample room on the open decks, so everyone can see the firework displays outside on what will hopefully be a mild summer evening. The boat leaves from the pier in Rüdesheim, which is only a short walk from the campsite, and sails through the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Middle Rhine Valley, where you will be able to view numerous castles, historic towns and vineyards while enjoying a meal on the boat. At dusk we make the return journey in a convoy of about 50 illuminated boats, passing numerous large firework displays and blazing castles. It is a fascinating, romantic, and unforgettable evening. On the disappointing side we were contacted by the campsite in Aachen, which has always been our first stop on this tour, informing us that the team there has decided not to make reservations for groups anymore. This is even more disappointing, as we had already had feedback from them earlier this year that they will be able to receive us again in 2026. As we cannot go there with a group without a reservation, we have had to change the itinerary of the tour slightly. We will now start the tour in Cologne on Saturday instead of Aachen moving on to Koblenz on Monday and staying there for two nights. The rest of the journey thereafter stays the same as originally planned. We are sorry about that change, but Koblenz has a lot to offer and a two-night stay there is definitely a plus especially as we have booked river pitches and in the past customers mentioned to us that they would have liked to stay there an additional night.
We are sorry for this change, but if you have already booked the tour or were planning to, you could still go to Aachen before the start of our tour in Cologne. If you decide to do this, we would recommend that you arrive there during the morning, as in the afternoon most likely all pitches will be taken! Of course, if you have booked the tour with us, we can provide you with information on the website of the campsite and also the POI’s in and around Aachen.
We still have limited availability on the tour but we recommend booking soon if you want to join us in 2026, not only to take advantage of the Earlybird discount which is only valid until the end of the year, but because we will not be offering this tour in 2027.
