Many of you have been asking when our touring programme for 2024 will be published and we are happy to say that we can now present it to you. Even though we have not received the feedback from all the campsites for next year, the ones that are missing we know from previous years and are confident that they will reply soon. If not, we will be calling them, to check that our mail did not get stuck in their spam filter!
You might have noticed that in 2023 we put in more tours that were not so far from the UK, which meant less milage and less borders to cross. During Covid the borders were a major problem but as you all know, things are back to normal now, and the cost of fuel has gone down significantly in most European countries. If you plan any travelling now, here is the latest stats on fuel prices in Europe. This is the type of document we provide our customers with before the tour starts, so they can plan their fuel stops wisely 😊.
We therefore decided to offer 3 three-week tours in our 2024 programme which are further afield, i.e., “Discover Denmark”, “Stunning Norway” and “Captivating Croatia”. The Denmark and Norway tours are back-to-back and would give you 6 weeks of European travel, reducing travelling costs, as you only must get there once! As you might know we always try to offer this concept of the back-to-back tours wherever possible. If you would like to come to Croatia, you can combine it with the “Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities” tour allowing for 5 weeks of travel in southern Europe in September when the weather is still nice and warm.
Our Evergreen “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” remains in the programme, but we decided to follow it with to our “Germany’s Romantic Road” tour which has not been on the programme for a while. We hope that we are not disappointing too many of you that may have planned on coming with us to the Black Forest in 2024, but we still have availability on this year’s “Breathtaking Black Forest” tour and if you are quick you can still book until the beginning of June, availability permitting! This year, for the first time a customer booked 4 tours in a row, coming to Switzerland, Provence, Rhine & Moselle, and Black Forest! Many of our customers think that the back-to-back tours are great. The only disadvantage of the back-to-back tours is that we cannot offer the Calais Pickup service for the second tour.
We have now mentioned all the tours for 2024 that can be combined, but there is one stand-alone tour, our “Exciting Eastern Germany” tour. This beautiful tour offers a mix of cities, like Berlin, Dresden etc. and different Nature Reserves and not to forget you can visit the famous POW camp of Colditz castle. We run this tour in the second half of April, as this is almost the only time that this region is not crowded.
