Lake Orta during our Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities tour 2018

All 2021 tours now online

We hope you are all well and are staying safe during these difficult times.

We have now finalised all the tours for next year and the tour flyers and all information is now on our website. This year it has taken longer than normal to prepare as it was often difficult to contact some of the campsites, as many of them were closed due to the ongoing Covid 19 situation. We always like to talk to the campsites when planning a new tour to clarify the main questions regarding availability for groups, any size restrictions and whether dogs are welcome on each site. Now everything is complete, including all information on our two new tours to Denmark and Norway and it is now possible to book your tour for next year.

Unfortunately this year, we have already had to cancel the first 6 tours of the season. Both the FCO and the German government is still advising against any non-essential travel and many European borders are still closed. However, as the lockdown is slowly relaxed in some European countries, there is a small light at the end of the tunnel for all motorhomers as many camp sites are being allowed to reopen, although of course with conditions attached. At the moment many countries are considering a 3-step plan for reopening the campsites. In Germany, for example, only people with static caravans who have their own sanitary connections are already being allowed to return, as the sanitary blocks on the camp sites have to remain closed. Then in a second step self-sufficient vehicles like motorhomes can use the campsites and the motorhome service points will be re-opened and as a last step caravans and tents that need the sanitary blocks can return, once there have been changes made to allow for social distancing.

There seem to be changes every day regarding what is and is not allowed and soon many of the borders in Europe will re-open, however some countries may require anyone arriving in their country to complete a mandatory quarantine of 14 days. This would of course, make a two- or three-week tour like ours not feasible, especially as our customers often need to cross several borders to get to the starting point of the tour. So all we can do at the moment is to wait and see how the situation develops and keep our fingers crossed that the final two tours “Delightful Danube” and “Captivating Croatia” in September can take place.

We realise that some of you are uncertain at the moment about booking anything for 2021, but we have already received a number of bookings, as some of our customers needed something to look forward to! Everybody that has been affected this year by the cancellation of a tour either received a quick and full refund of their deposit, “parked” it with us as they plan to book a tour next year, or have already used their deposit to book a tour in 2021. Any deposit paid is safe and all the money paid is protected by a special insolvency insurance issued by one of Germany’s largest insurance companies.

We hope you find a tour that would interest you and decide to travel with us next year.

If you have any questions, or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us by e-mail, or just give us a call!

Stay safe.
