Digital Show – Day 4 “Scenic Switzerland” & “Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities”

Today would have been the fifth day of the Motorhome & Caravan Show and we are continuing with our own small digital version with another two tours to Switzerland and Northern Italy. The tour to Switzerland is new for 2022 and the “Impressive Italian Lakes and Cities” has regularly been in our touring programme, as it is a great tour to end the summer season usually with fantastic weather. Yesterday we took a day off from writing a newsletter, as we had to have an “office day” dealing with bookings we have received so far and doing some office work. We also went to the beach for an hour, as it was a lovely warm sunny day here in northern Portugal.

Scenic Switzerland
Saturday 3rd – Saturday 17th September 2022

Switzerland is more than just chocolate, watches, and yodelling. It is a land of 4 languages and multicultural sophistication. It is a small country but has a host of great places to see and visit with beautiful alpine scenery, glittering blue lakes, emerald valleys, and quaint villages. It also has buzzing cities steeped in history, such as Lucerne, Geneva and Lausanne offering great museums and galleries, historic buildings, and music festivals. We will also visit the capital Bern, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its stunning medieval old town, fountains, sandstone facades, narrow streets, and historic towers. During the tour you will have the chance to visit all these places and as a group we will make your own cheese at a show dairy in the Emmental valley situated between lush green rolling hills and flowering meadows. We end the tour in the Montreux region with a boat trip on Lake Geneva and visit to Chillon Castle, probably the most visited historic building in Switzerland.

Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities
Sunday 18th September – Saturday 1st October 2022

We start our “Impressive Italian Lakes & Cities” tour in the Swiss canton Ticino on the beautiful northern banks of the Lago Maggiore. Here we enjoy a group dinner and relax from the journey. We continue to the Piemont region where we stay two nights at the southern part of the lake close to the Borromean Islands, a must-see destination for all visitors to Lago Maggiore. You can spend a day visiting the three islands, using the hop-on, hope-off ferries and see historical buildings and stunning gardens. From here we will drive along a scenic route across the mountains to the second of the Upper Italian Lakes – the charming Lago d’Orta, and spend time exploring the sleepy, medieval town, island monastery and colourful piazza.  We then move on to Lombardy and visit Milan to see one of the most famous paintings in the world: The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci. From Milan, we travel to the attractive Lago d’Iseo and have time on route to stop at the picturesque city of Bergamo, the historic walled old town and atmospheric main piazza. During the tour we also spend one night at a vineyard in the wine region Franciacorta where we try the local wine and enjoy a typical Italian meal. The last three nights we spend at Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, giving you enough time for day trips to Verona, Sirmione or Riva, or to just relax at the campsite.

If you are interested in these (or any other tour), please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions – we would be happy to send you more information.
