Booking Rhine in Flames closing soon

Rhine in Flames fireworks 2016

Today we wanted to give you an update about the beautiful “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” tour, which starts at the end of June. We still have limited availability on this tour, but we need to close our bookings on Wednesday 22nd April, as our option for the tickets for the boat trip during the Rhine in Flames fireworks will expire thereafter.

It really would be a shame to miss the boat trip through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, especially as it will be the final year we offer this tour. We will be leaving Rüdesheim on our ship MS Bingen direction Loreley in the late afternoon, passing fortresses, old toll castles and romantic ruins lined up along both sides of the Rhine, which we will enjoy during our dinner on board. On the return journey to Rüdesheim we will see the Rhine in Flames. The boats make their way past numerous large fireworks displays. The convoy of about 30 illuminated boats and the impressive thundering echo of the magnificent fireworks are fascinating. The Rhine in Flames ends with a great firework display from a floating platform in the middle of the Rhine between Rüdesheim and Bingen. This is really a once in a lifetime experience. To get a feeling for this event, you will find the official video of the 40th anniversary and a slideshow with the tour impressions on our website.

From Rüdesheim we will leave the Rhine and travel to the Moselle River with many historic cities like Cochem, or Bernkastel-Kues. Besides the group event of the Rhine in Flames we will also have another group event, i.e. a meal and a guided tour of a historic wine cellar in Trier. Trier, located in the Moselle wine region near the Luxembourg border, is the oldest city in Germany. We will finish our two-week tour with two nights in Luxembourg, an international city with a rich history.

If you would like to join us on “Majestic Rhine & Moselle Rivers” tour, please send your booking before 22ndApril!

After this tour we will not travel until end of August due to the summer holiday season. End of August we will start our final two tours: “Scenic Switzerland” and “Amazing Alpine Roads”. For these tours we have very limited places left, we therefore recommend to book asap to avoid disappointment. As you might know we call these our mountain tours, and many customers have asked us, if it is possible to do this with a motorhome and rest assured – it is no problem to drive on these tours even with larger motorhomes. Our route goes primarily through the valleys, and the mountains can be reached from the campsites or during a driving day on route with different means, like cable cars, cog wheel trains or a bus, for example, taking you up to Hitlers Eagle’s Nest. If you wish we can recommend more winding roads for a drive in the motorhome, among others the Rossfeld Panoramastraße, Germany’s highest panoramic road. It leads through imposing mountain worlds and species-rich flora and fauna. As a starting point for unforgettable hikes, it leads past numerous inns and well-known film sets like the “sound of music” or “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. If you are a lover of the sound of music, you will of course have the opportunity in Salzburg to visit many other film locations or go on a tour with the “Sound of Music Bus”. If you like to visit film locations, you could also do this on our Switzerland tour when we stay in Lauterbrunnen. The Schilthorn-Piz Gloria in Lauterbrunnen/Mürren featured in the James Bond film „On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” (1969) as Blofeld’s alpine headquarters. It now has a 360-degree revolving restaurant, the “Bond World” exhibition, and a Walk of Fame.
