Fairytale castle Neuschwanstein and alpine mountains of the Schwangau region
On Saturday we finished our escorted motorhome tour along Germany’s Romantic Road. We spent the last 3 days in the picturesque Schwangau region.
Besides cycling along the lakes on the excellent cycling routes, the group went up mount Tegel with the cable car and visited King Ludwig’s fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. Due to the splendid autumn sunshine the views from the Tegelberg were stunning.
Probably one of the most impressive castles we saw during the tour was Neuschwanstein. Some walked up to the castle, others went up on horse drawn carriages. But we all were enchanted by this fairytale castle.
