On Saturday we finished our “Majestic Rhine and Moselle Rivers” Tour. We were blessed with good weather almost every day, but unfortunately, we had a bit of rain during the boat trip for the Rhine in Flames fireworks. Luckily it stopped just before the firework displays started, so that we could enjoy this spectacular event from the open deck of our illuminated boat. During our wine tasting we had an unexpected bonus, as it was the evening when the new wine princess of Trier was presented to the press. We got to meet her, and she spoke to the members of our group during our tour of the wine cellar, beautifully decorated with candles.
When everybody left yesterday, some went home directly and others who were lucky to have more time available, stopped in Ypres to see the last post at the Menin gate or went off to other destinations. As we often do, we had a lovely dog on our tour and the owners were glad that we helped them to make an appointment at the vet near Calais close to a campsite we were able to recommend to them. At the end of a tour, we always can recommend a vet either close to the last campsite of the tour or at one near Calais or any of the other ports used by our customers. As we also speak French making an appointment is no problem.
