Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show 2024

Palazzo Massaini, Pienza Tuscany

Car park at coast of Cecina

Last week we returned from our scouting tour through Tuscany which we really enjoyed, particularly as the weather was so kind to us. While in the UK and Germany you had snow and freezing temperatures, we were walking on the beach with temperatures of about 18 degrees! As mentioned in our last newsletter we spent most nights on aires, for example in the Montepulciano or Chianti wine regions, but sometimes we just parked up on a carpark near a lake or at the coast, as being winter these places were virtually deserted. As many of you know we usually try to find a vineyard where we can enjoy a wine-tasting during our tours, and we were delighted to discover a great place with a super view over the Tuscan hills. There we will not just have a wine-tasting but also a visit of the oldest wine cellar of the region and enjoy a typical Italian meal and very importantly no driving afterwards 😊.

Now we are back home and getting ready to travel to the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Some of our customers that joining us on our “Exciting Eastern Germany” tour in April have already announced that they will come to our stand to pick up the information pack containing the Roadbook, maps etc. and to ask some additional questions for the preparation of the trip.
We will be closing bookings for our “Exciting Eastern Germany” tour directly after the show on February 26th. If you want to grab one of the remaining places you can chat with us during the show about this tour.

April is a very popular time to visit this region mainly because there are no mosquitos in the Spreewald during this time of the year. The UNESCO Spreewald Biosphere Reserve is a unique cultural and natural landscape perfect for hiking and cycling. The real beauty of the region, however, lies in the widely ramified network of rivers that you can explore for example in a rented canoe. For our group, we have hired a punting boat (so you don’t have to paddle) and an experienced guide, who will tell us about the history and life in this region. Important for the tour is that Colditz Castle is reopening on April 17th, just in time for our customers to visit. More of the castle will be opened to the public and the stately rooms can be entered and interactively discovered using state-of-the-art technology. The escape attempts of the Allied officers from what was thought to be an escape proof prison are now documented using augmented reality, 3D staging and high-resolution images.

We hope to see many of you on our stand 4122 in Hall 4, at the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show 2024 which takes place from 13th – 18th February at the NEC in Birmingham. It is always a great opportunity for us to meet existing and new customers and to talk about our tours. But it is also a good possibility for you to meet some customers from previous tours and to talk to them about their experience, as they often use our stand as a meeting point for reunions.
