Wine-tastings on our Tours
No holiday is complete without trying the local specialities, which is why, on most of our tours, we include a wine-tasting of typical wines of the touring region:
On our “Picturesque Provence” tour we stay overnight at a vineyard in the Chateauneuf-du-Pape wine region, where we can taste some of the famous red wines from the southern part of the Rhone Valley.
During our “Majestic Rhine & Moselle” tour we spend the night at a vineyard on the Moselle and, during a 3-course dinner, have the opportunity to taste a variety of German wines including Riesling, Chardonnay and some local red wines. We are also given a guided tour of the wine cellar.
On the “Breathtaking Black Forest”tour we have a wine tasting in one of the most beautiful wine villages on the slopes of the Black Forest where we can try a selection of local wines and fruit schnapps including the famous “Kirsch” liquer used in Black Forest Gateau. This event is followed by a group dinner in a nearby restaurant.
On “Germany’s Romantic Road” we visit a wine cellar in Kitzingen, see the wine making process and try some of the Franconian wines bottled in the rounded and flattened “Bocksbeutel”, originally used only for the best Franconian Wines. The wine-tasting is accompanied by a typical Bavarian meal “Brotzeit”.
